I am a self-taught artist born in Australia. Drawing and painting are my life, flora and fauna are my passion and having lived in New Zealand for over 20 years I am innately influenced by the diversity of this country's bird life, land and seascapes which I try to capture in my work and take palette from nature.

Using my own photographic material and research I try to convey a sense of my subject's habitat.

I use watercolour and acrylic and have spent a lot of time experimenting with lino-cut printmaking and mosaics. Using these latter methods makes it essential to separate out each element in order to capture the essence of nature's beauty, such as the subtlety of reflections on a bird's wing, leaf or flower. Creating textural effects through the use of moulding pastes and gels is another dimension of my work which I am developing with interesting and exciting results.
